Hey, That's My Cape! DARK KNIGHT RISES Trailer Love

You know by now that I love Batman. To a ridiculous degree. But did you also know I have a thing for Christian Bale? That may sound silly and/or obvious considering he’s a handsome Hollywood actor who lots of women probably have a “thing” for but my affection for him goes way back. To Newsies.

The funny thing about my strange obsession with Bale is that over the course of the last few years I’ve discovered many women my age who feel the same exact way about him and have that same love for Newsies. So needless to say, when The Dark Knight Rises trailer premiered I had trouble containing myself. I love Batman, I love Bale and this is their last ride together. Although I’m crazy about Bale, he’s not my favorite Batman (that honor goes to Michael Keaton). But no one can say he hasn’t created a memorable role. If for some reason you haven’t yet watched the trailer, do that now and then read on for the thoughts that ran through my head when I watched.

My thoughts on the trailer (and a few more on Bale) in this week's Hey, That's My Cape! at Newsarama.

Just have to say, yay for Keaton love. I really love Keaton's version of Batman as well and not a lot of people would pick him as their favorite.

I am going to be sad to see Nolan's Batman series come to an end. I have really loved these movies.

Love the post, and was equally psyched for the trailer, particularly because my wife and I were two of the many fans in the stadium for the Heinz Field shoot.

Re: the Robin supposition, the crowd was made up of about 50% hardcore Batman fans and 50% hardcore Steelers fans. The production provided yellow bandanas, but left the sign-making to the fans; we were told to make and bring our own if we wanted to. The stylized Robin "R" may have been knowingly referential, but it was definitely not a planted clue by anyone in the know. While we certainly can't rule out a Nolanverse Robin—wouldn't that be cool?—I doubt that sign is a clue.

I've been in love with Bale since I saw him in Empire of the Sun. I was 11. He was 13. Him being cast as Batman was a full circle of fangasm for me. *dreamy sigh*
