Hey, That's My Cape!: Abracadabra

Zatanna is one of the most popular, non-famous characters in comics. The general public probably has no clue who she is, but to comic readers, DC in particular, she's kind of a big deal.

There's just something about Zatanna everyone loves. Maybe it's the top hat, the tuxedo coat or her penchant for speaking her spell backwards (NAMTAB POTS!). More than likely, it's the fishnets. Either way, after her longtime membership in the Justice League and with a few mini-series under her cummerbund, she's finally getting her very own ongoing from DC.

Read the rest of this week's Hey, That's My Cape! all about our favorite magician over at Heartless Doll.

I like Zatanna - but I hate lazy artists. I'm all for shortcuts, but when a three panel piece is so obviously copied over (at LEAST give her a tiny smirk in panel two fercryinoutloud!) it really irks me.

I don't even remember who the artist is here, but I saw that panel on the DC blog's preview and I am clearly still not over it :)

I for one am looking forward to this series. I've been a fan of Zatanna's since I first saw her in the very first comic I ever picked up.

JLA #179, the issue where Firestorm joined. She wore a costume I did not care for very much and had a pony-tail, but I thought the backwards-speak magic was a really cool power.
