7 Reasons We Never Stopped Watching Heroes

I must write in my sleep now. There's no other way I can account for writing as much as I do. Unless...I'm a robot.

Ha! See what I did there? My first article for the awesomely awesome site Topless Robot (brother/sister to Heartless Doll) is now up. After Heroes aired two weeks ago I became overwhelmed with my frustrations about the once-great show, hence the list. Here's a sample:
7) We're Nerds
Heroes relies heavily on geeky references and inside jokes. "Lolz they just made fun of Red Hulk!" "OMG they referenced the space-time continuum!!" So when you notice Peter's apartment number is the same as the address for Xavier's school or see that Kaito Nakamura's license plate is the same as the USS Enterprise registry number, that's a powerful enticement. And let's not forget the countless celebrity cameos from other sci-fi franchises that have appeared on the show. Besides the occasional drops in the bucket like Smallville or Big Bang Theory, geeks aren't normally catered to like Heroes does on the small screen.
What are you waiting for? Go read the other 6 reasons at Topless Robot!

Heroes is such a strange show, especially seeing how it managed to go from being a huge show, to one that pretty much no one watches, thanks largely to it's second season, which could also be said for "Lost" which also managed to lose the majority of it's viewers with that horrible second season.

Cool blog!

Congratulations, Jill, on your first article at Topless Robot.

I LOVED Heroes in its first season, stuck around through season two, then threw up my hands in disgust after that and never looked back.

You should send a copy of your article to the Heroes writing staff. Nothing can make them write worse than they already have, and it just might make them write better. (I wonder, do they even REALIZE the show is looked upon so poorly?)

Heroes is like Domino's Pizza: they need to understand and accept that they suck and really change it (like Domino's ads say they are trying to), or get outta the business. No more, "We suck, but we're not going to change."

YOU wrote that article? I loved it! It was a great list with great valid reasons why we still love Heroes. Thanks Nerdy Bird!
