Check me out on GEN!

I've got some exciting news to share with you all today. I am now a contributor over at the Girls Entertainment Network

GEN is a great site made up of several ladies just like me who write about video games, comics, cosplay and geek pop culture. I've admired their work for a while now and I was supremely enthusiastic when I was asked to join and contribute.

I'll be writing a column every two weeks to review/recap almost all DC Comics titles. I'm calling it DoubleDCoverage, sort of a play on my "Has Boobs, Reads Comics" title for my own blog. I'll also be posting other articles on there from time to time but the column is going to be just for GEN for now. Two weeks of reviews really takes up a lot of space, you know? But whenever I have an article on GEN, I'll let you guys know here.

So without further ado, here is my very first DoubleDCoverage on the Girls Entertainment Network. Leave some comments, let me know what you think. As always, spread the word! I've got a nice bio up on their about us section if you'd like to check that out as well. Thank you for all your support in helping me continue to grow. It's very appreciated.

Alright, I gotta confess...Yes, I voted for you on the Blogger Awards after only reading a few of your posts, but after checking out your bio, I believe I'm in lust with you :) No one should look that good in my favourite Batman villain costume (Ivy). Is your radio broadcast available on the nets? I'd really love to check it out. By the by, I've been to Comic-Con 7 times since 98 and would love to show you around. I used to sell original comic art and still know a number of artists. That way you'd get to go places most people don't, and you'd get the chance to have dinner/breakfast with some cool individuals. Since when the Con isn't going on we mostly pal around in "Old Town" San Diego eating, getting inebriated and seeing how little sleep we can function on. The next day, while recovering from hangovers breakfast tacos with lots of hot sauce to clear our heads are the order of the day.

Anyway, not to sound creepy, but it'd be a pleasure to show you about.

Holy word count, Nerdy Bird! That new gig looks like a lot of work. Congrats, though! I'm more of a Marvel and/or independents reader, but maybe reading your column will get me interested in some DC titles.

And I'm adding GEN to my blog roll.

It's a pleasure to have you on board, TNB! Your writings is wonderful and, even after your first post, I can tell you will be a huge asset to the site!

Welcome!

Nice reviews, Jill. You and I definitely see eye to eye on many DC titles. Although, I dropped Checkmate after Rucka stopped writing it. Bruce Jones is one of the worst writers in the business.

@sunandheir, usually if a comment includes the words "not to sound creepy" it's too late, haha. I appreciate your offer but I'm sure my boyfriend would have something to say about being escorted around by another guy. I'm hoping to get a crew of my own to go out with me anyway. Thank you for voting even though you haven't been reading for long. Yes, my station broadcasts online, you just have to go to the website and click the "Listen Live" button on the right hand side.

@GB, you got that right! But I'm happy and excited none-the-less. I hope I can get you into some DC!

@aktrez, thanks again for having me!

@randy, thanks! What was your favorite book from last week?

When I saw you pic on GEN yesterday I was like "Huh, Jill's a columnist on GEN and I didn't realize it because I'm a boob." I guess I'm not as unobservant as I thought if this is a new venture for you. WTG! I'm always happy to see more DC coverage.

I'm still enjoying JSA and the superman books as written by Johns and Robinson.

Speaking of Robinson, I've been rereading my entire run of Starman. Easily one of the best books ever to come out. I bought the first Omnibus and after reading it, I decide to just reread the rest of the series. I'm glad I did.

Also liking Secret Six. Catman and Deadshot have always been two of my favorite villains. To have them on a team together and written by Gail Simone is just great. I also like Scandal and Ragdoll. The jury is still out for me on Bane being on the team.
